Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from March of the previous year.
Success also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first tour victory, took control to create a third set.
He saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
